Stork Nappy Service vs. Little Droppings Nappy Service

Stork Nappy Service vs. Little Droppings Nappy Service

When we started Little Droppings in 2022, we heard a lot about the Stork Nappy Service. People wanted to know; are we the same as the Stork nappy service? I’ve compiled a list of the important differences between our services:

Little Droppings:

  • We use Modern Cloth Nappies. This is the more functional and beautiful version of the old terry towel. The primary differences are that they are more absorbent, easier to use (no folding or pinning required) and they come in beautiful patterns.
  • We don’t use ‘wet pails’. Modern Cloth Nappies do not require soaking of any kind. This means reducing the danger of having wet pails of nappies in the house near babies and toddlers. We provide a fashionable, slim lined bin that fits neatly next to your change table that has a lid to keep any smells trapped inside.
  • You don’t need to scrape off the poo. We have a commercial washing machine designed to manage solid waste. We don’t require you to scrape, rinse or soak the nappies at all. All you have to do is use the nappy on your baby and place it in the bin provided.
  • We pick up dirty nappies twice a week. This means you don’t have smelly nappies piling up, and it also means there are less stains on nappies as the poos have less time to soak into the fabric.
  • Our primary mission is to reduce waste. We support our customers to further reduce their waste by using reusable baby wipes and reusable breast pads. We wash these items for free. We also love sharing tips and inspiration for being a planet-friendly parent in Adelaide.
  • We are parents ourselves. The two owners of Little Droppings are parents in Adelaide and intimately understand the needs of parents in today’s world and particularly the environmental stressors that are important to our generation.

Stork Nappy Service:

  • Stork nappy service used terry towel nappies.
  • Used buckets for dirty nappy storage.
  • Provided a weekly pick up of dirty nappies rather than twice a week.
  • Primarily a laundry service rather than a business on a waste reduction mission.
